Private Coaching [BJJ + Well-Being]

Private Coaching combines several areas of Professor Nelson's skill set.  He has coached both wresting and football, he is a martial arts instructor, a certified Crisis Prevention Institute instructor, and is a licensed psychotherapist with extensive training and experience in helping others overcome barriers in their pursuit of living a more full-filling life.  This service ranges from private jiu-jitsu lessons to a systemic approach to explore ways to enhance the level of well-being in your life!

Physical Safety Skills for Healthcare Professionals and Educators

This course is for healthcare professions and educators who may encounter aggressive behaviors in the work setting.  Learn and practice skills that can help keep you and others safe without the use of pain-compliance.  This course combines Nelson's experience being a certified Crisis Prevention Institute Non-violent Crisis Intervention instructor, a black-belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a former wrestling coach, and martial arts instructor.  He has been a CPI instructor for over a decade.  He teaches primarily to mental health professionals working in acute inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient clinics, and in-home settings.  This is NOT a CPI course. This course offers an evidenced-based grappling approach to protect against physical attack while trying to ensure the safety of everyone involved. This course involves physical contact, will utilize drilling for repetition, and resistance-training.  This class can be done individually or in small groups.

  *This course is not intended to serve as training to handle active shooters.  That training would best be done by law enforcement or other professional security training experts.
